Bob Saget’s Cause of Death Officially Revealed by Family

Bob Saget’s family released a statement last night revealing the cause of death of the late actor.

According to the family’s statement, The Full House star tragically passed of a head injury. The 65-year-old star was found inside a room at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida on January 9th.

The statement from the family, which was released to NBC News, confirmed that Saget passed away due to the result of a head injury. They stated, “The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep,” Continuing to say, “No drugs or alcohol were involved.”

Today (Feb.10), Chief Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany confirmed Saget’s death as an accident. Stephany stated, “In consideration of the circumstances surrounding the death … it is my opinion that the death of Robert Saget, a 65-year-old white male found unresponsive in a hotel room, is the result of a blunt head trauma.” Stephany revealed Saget’s death was likely “incurred from an unwitnessed fall.”

Stephany also confirmed that at the time Saget had tested positive for COVID-19, although that diagnosis is not linked to his death.

Saget, who was laid to rest on Jan. 14, was mourned by those who loved him dearly. The Full House cast were some of those who attended the funeral as they were known to be some of Saget’s closest friends.

Kelly Rizzo, the widow of the late actor, took to Instagram on Wednesday (Jan 9.) to remember and honor Saget. Rizzo wrote, “One month without this incredible man. Bob truly lived life to its fullest. He had so many hardships over the years that he would always tell me “look, life is hard, we need to enjoy it as much as possible..”

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Saget family during this difficult time.
