Brie Larson is taking a break from her YouTube channel.
Larson created the channel as a way to explore herself in a different setting. In the video, she says “I started this channel because I needed to shake it up. I needed to feel like I could just be silly and normal,” she continues. “I had fun. I got to do things that I never would have done otherwise, prioritize things that are fun and enjoyable.”
As the actress reflects on the one year anniversary of the channel, she talks about how she will need to take a step back from making videos. She says, “I’m gonna have to slow down on this. I can’t keep up with doing videos weekly. I gotta go back to my job, my first job – my acting job.” Overwhelmed by emotions, she tears up and says that she’s sad about having to take a hiatus.
Have no fear — the Captain Marvel star says that this isn’t the end of her channel. She will continue to make videos, just not on a weekly basis. Additionally, her podcast with her best friend Jessie Ennis, Learning Lots, will still be running biweekly.
In the final minute of the video, Larson thanks her fans for tuning into her channel and hopes that they found joy in them. She ends by saying her signature line, “I hope you feel happy and safe in your body.”
Fans suspect that the actress is taking a break from YouTube to reprise her role as Carol Danvers in the Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels. The Marvels stars Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel. Nia DaCosta is set to direct. It is expected to release on November 11, 2022.
