Brooke Eden Is Here to Tell You To Live Your Life Out Loud, Even If It Makes You an Outlaw (Exclusive)

Brooke Eden is in her most confident era yet.

The country singer/songwriter is sharing her personal statement of unapologetic love and resilience on her new EP Outlaw Lovewhich is available now on all music streaming platforms.

All co-written by Brooke, the 4-song project shows that the Florida native is a true trailblazer when it comes for inclusion in country music, as she tells us that the title track is all about standing up for who you are and realizing that sometimes doing that makes you an outlaw.

“‘Outlaw Love’ follows the journey of [me and my wife’s] relationship,” Brooke tells Celeb Secrets host Juliet Schroder backstage at Ty Herndon’s Concert for Love and Acceptance during CMA Fest 2023 earlier this month in Nashville, Tennessee. “There’s a lot of truth in it and it’s probably the deepest music I’ve done… I’m telling my story and nobody else is telling it better than me!”

And while all of the songs have a special meaning to the country songstress, Brooke says that “Outlaw Love” speaks to her the most, as it “really defined what the project was going to be about” for her.

“[‘Outlaw Love’] really defines what this EP was going to be about for me,” she explains passionately. “It’s really important in a time where there’s so much anti-LGBTQ legislation happening — but there’s so much queer joy that’s alongside of that — and I just really wanted to highlight that there’s a lot more love than there is hate. It was important for that song to be on it for me.”

In addition to “Outlaw Love,” the record features “Chills,” which can be described as a vibey, romantic song about how someone can make you feel butterflies, no matter the situation; a twangy and rhythmic “Whispering;” and a harmonious and evocative “All My Life.”

The Florida native appearance at Ty Herndon’s Concert for Love and Acceptance was one of the many lined up during CMA Fest earlier this month, as she also brought her songs from Outlaw Love to the Hard Rock Stage on EP release day on June 9th.

When speaking about her presence at Ty Herdon’s eighth annual event, she told Celeb Secrets that it was something she “never thought she’d ever see” in a community that isn’t as open-minded as one would think.

“A night like this is so important. To be able to celebrate queerness in country music is something that I’d never thought that I would see,” she said with a smile. “I grew up singing country music and singing country radio since I was a little girl. When I met my wife, I was told that you can’t be a country artist and be gay. To be here tonight with [Ty Herndon] who blazed the path and lit the way for all of us — I’m so honored to be here.”

Additional performances throughout the evening came from Herndon, Chrissy Metz, Maddie & Tae, Terri Clark, Pam Tillis, Sam Williams, Chapel Hart, Desmond Child, Billy Gilman, Jamie Floyd, Brandon Stansell, Bryan Ruby, Wendy Moten, Shelly Fairchild, Justin Fabus, Auti, Autumn Nicholas, Jada Cato, Jason Catron, and Matt Bloyd.

The event provides a platform for artists, supporters, and allies to come together in a spirit of love, unity, and acceptance. Through the power of music, this extraordinary event ignites conversations, challenges stereotypes, and promotes positive change within the country music industry and beyond.

As for what’s next, Brooke hopes to continue to build on the story she’s trying to tell with Outlaw Love, as she’s been in the studio “writing like crazy” with plans to make a full-length album sometime soon.

“I would love to make this EP and build onto it. I would love to maybe create an album with more songs that kind of go in the same vein. I’m just writing like crazy right now and there’s so much that I want to share,” she says.
