Bryce Xavier Is Trying to Be the Artist and the Creator That He Would’ve Really Loved to Have Growing Up (Exclusive)

If you are unfamiliar with Bryce Xavier, then you better get on board!

The 21-year-old singer, songwriter AND content creator has a very promising career ahead that you will definitely want to keep on your radar…

The soon-to-be superstar is known for creating songs that “speak to topics of inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community as well as his heritage,” making him truly one-of-a-kind.

“He uses music and his social presence as a way to present love and light with beautiful songs of real messages happening in today’s society,” and his heartwarming songs have the potential to impact the world — His newest single is no exception!

On June 1st, Bryce put out a song called “My Favorite Candy” in honor of Pride month, serving as a follow-up to his recent tracks “Bathroom Antics,” “Run Back To You,” “Forbidden To You” and more.

Leading up to its release, the budding musician wrote in an Instagram post, “THIS BOY TASTES LIKE MY FAVORITE CANDY 🍬 “My Favorite Candy” out 6/1 … let’s start pride together 🏳️‍🌈”

This past weekend, Celeb Secrets reporter Melanie Rooten got the opportunity to catch up with Bryce Xavier backstage at VidCon, where he talked ALL about the hot new single and soooo much more.

When asked the meaning behind “My Favorite Candy,” the rising popstar revealed to us, “It’s basically just about me and my partner’s relationship” and the hardships that the duo has faced together.

“The family is not the most accepting of the two of us, but it just basically is a story of me saying like, even through, you know, maybe not the best circumstances, a beautiful love can still come out of it and it’s worth fighting for,” he shared with a grin.

With strong themes of love and acceptance featured in the brand new song, this is not the only time the emerging artist has been outspoken regarding things that are close to his heart.

When it comes to creating music as a whole, Bryce feels as though he is “using [his platform] for good,” ultimately creating a safe space for all of his listeners.

“It just makes me feel like I’m like doing a good service to my younger self… I am trying to be the artist and the creator that I would’ve really loved to have growing up at a young age, and I really hope that I’m a good role model to people that are younger, you know, so when they are 21 like me, they feel like they had somebody that they could look up to online that was creating safe spaces, safe boundaries and you know, just an open environment to just truly be whoever you want to be,” he gushed.

It takes a lot of courage to speak out about personal things in his life, but Bryce revealed to us, “the support that I have from my partner and my family” makes it easier to be authentically himself.

“I’m really close with my mom and my grandparents [and] they’re the reason why I’m here today. Just the friends and the fan support, they just make me feel like I can be authentically myself, no smoke and mirrors, just a hundred percent Bryce Xavier… I always wanna show that through my music,” the talented singer-songwriter spilled.

Aside from working on new music, Bryce has TONS of projects in the works that are more on the content creation side.

“I’m gonna be just doing some more lifestyle content like online. I just bought a new house, so just gonna be showing the process of me renovating that with my boyfriend and our doggies, so yeah, just stay tuned. There’s a lot of love and a lot of happiness coming from this end, so I’m excited to share that with everybody,” he dished with a beaming smile.

In addition to this, the 21-year-old shared, “You guys should definitely check out, that just launched, my series with Keke Palmer called Make It Make Sense on her KeyTV Network, where we just talk about pop culture, music and everything kind of going on in the world right now, so definitely check that out.”

When asked what it is like working alongside a true icon of his generation like Keke Palmer, Bryce revealed to Celeb Secrets, “She is my sister. She is the sweetest person ever. She is so down to earth. She is very hardworking. She’s very hands-on in all of these projects, not just slapping her name on it, so she is just so easy and amazing to work with and just creates a safe environment for all of the cast and the crew. Like, she’s sweet to everybody.”

“She’s definitely an inspiration and I look up to her like in just entertainment, like overall, and she’s definitely the public figure that I’d love to be,” he concluded passionately.

With plans for the future that we seriously can’t wait to see (and hear) for ourselves, Bryce also shared some of the goals he wants to accomplish in the upcoming months and/or years.

“I think just in the next year, like doing a full sold-out headline show would be like really cool. Like I’ve done some awesome performances in the last couple years, but that definitely would be like a really big goal,” he gushed.

Aside from music, “I’m trying to do some more with like fashion and stuff like that too,” the TikTok sensation spilled.

He continued, “That’s always been something that I’ve loved doing and my fans and people know about me, but, you know, to do something like maybe like a line, I don’t know, or like a collaboration with a brand. I haven’t done something like that in a couple years, so it definitely would be fun to, you know, be older now… bringing some new style to the industry would be really cool.”
