BTS, John Legend, HAIM, and More to Perform During MusiCares’ Virtual Fundraiser: ‘Music on a Mission’

With the biggest night in music right around the corner, the Recording Academy is getting ready to celebrate–and is bringing everyone at home along for the ride with MusiCares’ virtual fundraiser, ‘Music on a Mission.’

The event is taking place to honor the strength of the music community and how much it has gone through in the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s set to take place on Friday, March 12, only two nights before the 63rd GRAMMY Awards.

So far, the lineup of performers includes HAIM, H.E.R., Jhené Aiko, John Legend, and the newly announced South Korean boy group BTS. MusiCares will also include performances from the legendary Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, and Tom Petty with special appearances by Carole King, Jonas Brothers, Lionel Richie, Shakira, Macklemore, Paul McCartney, and more.

“Music on a Mission is a chance to recognize the challenges music people have faced this past year and honor their resiliency,” Laura Segura, Executive Director of MusiCares shared in a statement.

“After surveying the music industry, it is clear the pandemic has taken a financial and mental toll. As the leading foundation dedicated to the health and welfare of music people, it is our responsibility to support music people through this pandemic and beyond. We’re thrilled to pay tribute to the people who have kept the music playing.”

Since the beginning of the pandemic, MusiCares has donated more than $22 million to assist more than 25,000 music people throughout the industry that includes songwriters, engineers, producers, bus drivers, crew, and others.

Tickets for the event are available to purchase for $25 and are currently on sale here. All the proceeds of the show will be distributed amongst those in need in the music industry.
