Before debuting as a major performing artist, this musician and producer from Medellín, Colombia, wrote smash hits for artists like Becky G, Karol G, Bad Bunny, and many others. Supported by ‘La Tribu’ (the name he affectionately donned to his ardent followers), Camilo has released hits like “Desconocidos” alongside Mau y Ricky and Manuel Turizo, and his own “Tutu” and Remix with Pedro Capó and Shakira.
His last two albums, Por Primera Vez and Mis Manos have seen international success and will only continue to grow. In fact, thanks to his debut album Por Primera Vez, Camilo was nominated six different times during this year’s Latin American Music Awards.
Celeb Secrets correspondent Lupe LLerenas had the opportunity to speak with Camilo during the 2021 Latin American Music Awards rehearsals press room, where he talked about being nominated, his most recent album Mis Manos, and announcing his first-ever tour.

When asked about how he felt being nominated six different times during this year’s Latin AMAs, Camilo expressed his pure joy and excitement.
“I feel very fortunate to be nominated 6 times in 6 nominations, worth the redundancy. I feel honored and I feel happy for each category, each song that is there,” he said. “It represents me and, in the moment, I was in at that time. I just feel very proud. Not to mention the intention in which people all around are seeing my music.”
Camilo also revealed that he’s eager to finally hit the road on his first ever tour ever. “We just finished this album [Mis Manos] and very soon, we’ll be announcing something that I’ve been wanting for a while,” Camilo added. “I’ve dreamt about it and been wanting to do it, especially with last album too but for obvious reasons like the pandemic, it wasn’t allowed to go on tour. But very soon we will be announcing for details and announcing the dates.”
