Grab your friends and grab your popcorn, because Disney Channel has just announced that they will be airing Season 1 of the hit Disney+ show, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on May 8th!
To get you ready for the highly-anticipated season two premiere on May 14, the network will have a full season-one marathon on Saturday, May 8th. It’s the best way to get ready for the next set of episodes, as you’ll be able to catch up on your favorite characters, have a sing-a-long or create more wild fan theories.
In addition, Disney confirms that the one-night marathon will unveil sneak peaks of Season 2, a new musical performance by Nini (played by Olivia Rodrigo) and Ricky (who is played by Joshua Bassett). The marathon will also include and special messages and fun facts from the cast, fan-favorite “Buspool Karaoke,” and so much more.

The 10-episode series picks up nearly 15 years after the original movie has become a global sensation, at the real-life location where it all began: East High. It follows a group of students as they count down to opening night of their school‘s first-ever production of “High School Musical.” Show-mances blossom, friendships are tested and new ones are made, rivalries flare and lives are changed forever as these young people discover the transformative power that only a high school drama club can provide.
The series features original songs and acoustic “rehearsal-room” reinterpretations of songs from the original “High School Musical,” providing the soundtrack for an unlikely group of theater kids who learn “we’re all in this together” when it comes to pulling off an against-all-odds opening night.
