CS: Take us through that final day of filming – what was it like for you?

CH: “The final day of filming was very emotional. Not only was it a night scene, it was a major development to the story and an impactful one. When Demetria and I wrapped, we were surprised and moved to discover that Ashley, Amalia, Taylor and Jessica, all of whom had finished their day’s work hours before and were scheduled to work the next day, had stayed on location in their trailers to be around to mark when those of us who were finishing work that night, for the final time, were done. We had a very special time together where we all gathered to mark the moment and to say how much this journey together had meant to us all. I will miss not making more episodes of Motherland but am determined to stay connected to all of these wonderful women for years to come.”

CS: Did you steal anything from the set? If not, what was one item you really wanted to steal as a memento from working on Motherland?

CH: “I didn’t steal anything from the set, but I am grateful to have received a couple of her uniforms. And, of course, some of her favorite pens.”

CS: It has been said that a lot of women worked both on and off screen for this series – how was this experience for you?

CH: “Hands down ‘Motherland: Fort Salem’ has been one of the best experiences of my career. And the amazing number of talented women working in collaboration to tell these stories definitely added to and enhanced everything else. Even on the toughest, most challenging days, the energy remained supportive and encouraging. This is truly an energy I will try to bring with me and foster on all my future jobs. It will also be exciting to see where all of the young women who had some of their first professional opportunities on Motherland go and how they amplify all of the wonderful elements of this formative experience in their future work.”

CS: Are there any parts of Petra Bellweather that you will keep with you as a person/actor?

CH: “In terms of character traits, I will try to follow her example of continually trying to evolve by seeking to do the next right thing with clarity and compassion. That she continued to learn and grow and not stay stuck in ‘but we have always done it this way’ is a part of Petra’s approach to life that I admire.”
