From Godzilla to The Good Doctor and Another Life, Catherine Lough Haggquist has done it all.
The actress reprised her role as Petra Bellweather for the third and final season of Motherland: For Salem, created and written by Eliot Laurence. The series is set in an alternate America where 300 years ago, witches ended their persecution by making a deal with the U.S. government to fight for the country.
The show also tapped into the women empowerment movement, having an all-female cast and women working behind the scenes. Although the show’s cancellation came a day before its season two finale, the fanbase was promised an eventful end to the series.
Motherland is known for having a loyal and enthusiastic fanbase. One Twitter user for instance is working to save the show stated, “#MotherlandFortSalem was, is, a home for us… Freeform took the show from us, unfairly. We will give it a new birth, prove how wrong the decision to cancel it was by saving it.”
#MotherlandFortSalem , was, is, a home for us.
It was made out of art and love.
Freeform took the show from us, unfairly.
We will give it a new birth, prove how wrong the decision to cancel it was, by saving it#SaveMotherlandFortSalem
