The 2022 Met Gala took New York City by storm yesterday (May 2), bringing together some of the biggest names in the fashion and entertainment industry to help raise funds for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
You may be scratching your head in confusion as the 2021 Met Gala just happened this past September. “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” was supposed to happen the first Monday in May 2021, however, it was postponed due to on the ongoing spread of COVID-19. With the schedule back on track, the 2022 Met Gala’s theme was “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” with a focus on “gilded glamour.”
Gilded glamour is based in the Gilded Age’s of 1870 to 1890, this era of clothing and fashion featured things such as feathers, corsets, bustles, lace, satin and ruffles.
