Young Hollywood’s finest teamed up with The Thirst Project to celebrate World Water Day at The Beverly Hilton’s Stardust Penthouse Lounge on Tuesday (March 22) in Beverly Hills, California.
Celebrated on March 22, 2016, World Water Day is an international observance and an opportunity to learn more about water related issues, be inspired to tell others and take action to make a difference. It dates back to the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development where an international observance for water was recommended. Each year, UN-Water — the entity that coordinates the UN’s work on water and sanitation — sets a theme for World Water Day corresponding to a current or future challenge.
The special event featured appearances from G20 Members Audrina Patridge, Andrea Russett, Chyler Leigh, Olga Kay, and Remi Cruz, who walked the red carpet and participated in a special press conference to spread awareness to the global water crisis that is happening today.
Founded by Seth Maxwell, The Thirst Project is the world’s leading youth based nonprofit organization, working to build a socially-conscious generation of young people to END the global water crisis. Through the power of education and celebrity support, Thirsts Project inspires students to launch water projects all over the world raising money toward the construction of freshwater wells in developing nations and impoverished communities. To date, Thirst Project has raised over $8 Million providing over 280,000 people with safe, clean water.
CelebSecrets4U was on the red carpet to talk with YouTubers Andrea Russett, Remi Cruz, and Mikey Murphy to talk about how important the water issue is in not only other countries but also in the United States, how they got involved with the Thirst Project, and their upcoming projects — make sure to watch the videos below for more!
