Christian Jesús González Nodal — aka Christian Nodal — is headed to the Latin AMAs!
The 23-year-old Regional Mexican sensation is set to light up the stage with a musical performance at the 2022 Latin AMAs, as well as receive the “Extraordinary Evolution” Award.
The Extraordinary Evolution Award is a special award presented to a young performer that has shown changed and demonstrated rapid growth as an artist to reach the highest break in success during a short period of time. Maluma received the award in 2018, Becky G in 2019, and Ozuna in 2021.
The Latin AMAs are expected to be a big one for Nodal, as he is also nominated for “Favorite Solo Artist-Regional Mexican,” “Favorite Album-Regional Mexican,” “Favorite Song-Regional Mexican,” “Collaboration of the Year” and “Viral Song of the Year.” You can view a full list of nominees here.

Nodal began his music career at the age of 17 and became successful as he broke new ground with his unique style of fusing classical Mariachi sounds with hints of the accordion. This world-renowned sound has brought Mexican music a new combination to what is called “Mariacheño,” which audiences of all ages enjoy.
Nodal represents Caborca, Sonora located in northern Mexico. He comes from a family of musicians which has led to becoming a musical phenomenon. His first single launched in 2016 titled, Adios Amor, became a global success and helped him become recognized in Mexico and the United States. In 2019, he released Ahora, AYAYAYAY! in 2020, and his latest Recordando a una Leyenda in 2021. All have been successful hits on all platforms internationally.
His song, Me Dejé Llevar became a No.1 for 72 weeks on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Album chart. This led to a breaking record in the history of the male artist chart. He has collaborated with artists such as Sebastián Yatra, Piso 21, Ángela Aguilar, and Gera MX.
Nodal’s latest single, “Ya No Somos Ni Seremos,” became his biggest debut as a solo artist after debuting in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs. It has received a Golden certification in Mexico and the music video trended in 19 countries the day it premiered. He recently premiered his duet with Maná, in a new version of the band’s hit, “Te Lloré un Río.”
The 2022 Latin AMAs will air LIVE from the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 21st @ 7/6c on Telemundo.
