Coachella has gotten two of the biggest artists to replace Kanye ‘Ye’ West headline spot.
The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia will both be replacing the rapper to perform on night three for both weekends (April 17 and 24), TMZ confirms.
West unexpectedly dropped out of the festival earlier this week leaving fans shocked and left to wonder as to who would replace him in such a short amount of time. There is no definite reason as to why West dropped from the lineup, but the rapper has had a rough couple of months amidst his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
Just a day after the news broke, TMZ reported that Coachella already had some acts in mind to replace the rapper. These acts included Silk Sonic, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and of course The Weeknd.

The Weeknd seems like a perfect fit to replace West since brand-new album, Dawn FM, dropped in January of this year. The artist also has had prior experience by headlining the music festival back in 2018. Swedish House Mafia was already set to play the massive music festival, but not as a headliner. Since Kanye dropped from Coachella, they decided to bump the group up to share the spot with The Weeknd. The EDM powerhouses and award-winning artist make the perfect group, as they have collaborated in the past to make chart-topping hits.
