With a ton of new music coming this fall, Dan + Shay gave fans a taste of their new era by headlining Thunder 106 and Value City Furniture NJ’s annual Thunderfest at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on Friday (August 18).
With the crowd already hyped up from performances by Big Loud artists MacKenzie Porter and Griffen Palmer, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney kicked off their 22-song set with their popular hit “10,000 Hours,” followed by classic tunes like “Alone Together,” “All To Myself,” “Nothin’ Like You,” “Keeping Score” and “From The Ground Up.”
“I think this is the biggest show we’ve ever headlined,” Dan said to the sold-out crowd. “You all are the nicest human beings we’ve ever come in contact with,” Shay added before they joked about restarting the show.

Choosing to completely scrap their setlist, the “Tequila” singers continued the night by taking song requests from the audience for the duration of the night. Because of this, concert goers were able to hear some of the duo’s most iconic songs, including “Steal My Love,” “How Not To,” and “Island Time,” along with recently released “Always Gonna Be” and “Save Me The Trouble” before an acoustic medley of “Glad You Exist,” “Bigger Houses” and “I Should Probably Go To Bed.”
Transitioning back into a full bad for an epic ending of “I Should Probably Go To Bed,” Dan + Shay’s second encore consisted of some of their most beloved songs including “Speechless” — which had the entire venue lit up thanks to phone flashlights — “19 You And Me,” and of course “Tequila.”
If Friday’s show was any indication of what we can expect from the award-winning duo, then we can’t wait to see what’s in store. Smyers and Mooney continue to prove that they are a dominating force in the wildly popular pop-country genre, as their sentimental, sing-a-long ballads captivate audiences of all ages both on streaming platforms and inside concert arenas.
