No matter what happens, Dylan Scott will always be country.
The 34-year-old singer/songwriter just dropped a new banger that’s all about the lifestyle, values, and authenticity that not only reflect the genre, but also Scott’s southern Louisiana roots. Did we mention that it’s also appropriately titled “Country Till I Die?”
Written by Taylor Phillips, Charlie Handsome, John Byron and Ben Johnson, “Country Till I Die” is a song that Dylan tells Celeb Secrets that he fell in love with it the moment it was sent to him, as it reflects the life he’s lived growing up in the South.
“This song is cool. It’s fun. It says a lot about all the country folk out there in the world. I just feel like people are really going to enjoy not only how it feels, but the lyric behind it as well,” the 34-year-old shares with Celeb Secrets in an exclusive interview.
“It’s been minute since I released something this uptempo. It’s not a love song, which is something I’ve done a lot in the past… it’s more on that ‘Boys Back Home’ vibe of just uptempo and feel good and I’m excited. I’m excited to see who’s country and who’s not,” he continues with a smile.
2024 has been a standout year for Dylan, as he kicked things off by serving as direct support on Cole Swindell’s Win The Night Tour before embarking on his own headlining I Owe You One Tour, which included sold-out shows and shattered attendance records.
On the music side, the award-winning artist saw success on the Country Airplay charts thanks to his smash hit “Boys Back Home” with Dylan Marlowe as well as his solo track “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us.”
Mentioning to Celeb Secrets that he hit it off with Marlowe the moment they played their first show together, Scott says that it’s “super cool” to make music with your friends — and of course share it’s rapid success — after initially being turned down by both of their record labels.
“I took Dylan [Marlowe] out on his first tour here a couple of years ago and we just really hit it off. He’s just a good dude. He sent me the song and he’s like, ‘man, what do you think about this song?’ And I was like I love it, you know, not thinking I’d be apart of the song. So when he asked me, I was like one hundred percent,” he reveals to us.
“There’s a bunch of boys out there who want to hear a song about them and the people that they grew up with, so the first time we tried to go in and record it and get it out there, it was kind of shot down from both of our labels. But it worked out how it was supposed to about a year later after doing that, and it just took off.”
“It’s really exciting for me to not only be a part of that song, but to also be a part of Dylan’s first career single at radio and possibly going to be his first number one. It’s fun to make music with your friends, but to see the success behind it and share that with them is really cool.”
Dylan also released a deluxe version of his album Livin’ My Best Life (Still), which was a 26-song collection that became his highest-charted album on the Billboard Top 200 upon release. It’s already sparked five gold or platinum singles, three No. 1 songs, as well as multiple tracks on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart this year.
And the 34-year-old shows no signs of slowing down, as he promises that 2025 will continue to showcase the growth he’s achieved in the last twelve months with both new music and a headlining Country Till I Die Tour with artists like Dasha, George Birge and Graham Barham.
“We’ve been releasing a ton of music the past year and a half, which has been the biggest growth in my career than the last 10 years I’ve been doing this with all the music we’ve been releasing,” he reveals. “‘Country Till I Die’ falls right into that, just steadily releasing music, and it’s exciting. It’s been a minute since I released something this uptempo, and we’ll see who really likes this song and whatnot. There’s a lot of exciting stuff happening in 2025.”
