Legendary rapper Eminem recently received the title of Best-Selling Rapper in history, beating out many popular and renowned rap artists in the industry.

With over 200 million records sold, and 227 million units nationwide, Eminem is the number one selling rap artist in history and the 6th best-selling solo music artist of all time.
Marshall Mathers, a.k.a. Eminem, was born on October 17, 1972. He started his rap career at age 16 in Detroit, Michigan. It took him almost a decade to get noticed by rap mogul Dr. Dre, who signed him to his first recording contract in 1999.
This was the starting point to Eminem’s legendary and unprecedented hip-hop career that continues today. Establishing himself in the rap industry, Eminem has collaborated with many A-list artists and has produced endless hit singles.
Eminem produced one of his most well-known songs in 2002, “Lose Yourself,” which became the main song on the soundtrack for his 2002 movie 8 Mile. In 2003, he became the first-ever hip-hop artist to win an Oscar. He was also the first white rapper to succeed in the rap game at the time.
His best-selling work is his third studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP, which he produced in 2000. This album has surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify and includes hits such as “The Real Slim Shady” and “Remember Me?”
His best-selling single happens to be a song he collaborated on with Rihanna, called “Love the Way You Lie,” their 2010 classic hit. Combined with the YouTube views, this track has 2.42 billion total streams.
Eminem has been awarded numerous recognitions, winning everything from Billboard awards to MTV awards to Kids Choice Awards. He has also collaborated with a multitude of A-listers; along with Riri and Dr. Dre, Eminem has collaborated with Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Elton John, 50 Cent, B.o.B. and Hayley Williams, Lil Wayne, and many more.
Eminem will go down in history as one of the best rappers of all time, as he is the only artist to ever have 10 No.1 albums in the U.S. that have all debuted at the top of the charts.
