Nipsey Hussle is at last being honored.

According to NBC News, Eric Holder Jr. was given a sentence of 60 years to life in prison for the murder of Hussle on February 22, nearly four years after the famed rapper was slain in a gunshot outside his Los Angeles clothing store The Marathon Clothing.

Holder was first convicted of first-degree murder in July for the 2019 slaying of the hip-hop trailblazer, who would have been 33. At the incident, Holder was also found guilty of one count of possessing a handgun and two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter.

Though prior to the verdict, the alleged killer had previously been found guilty on one count of first-degree murder as well as two counts of attempted first-degree murder in regards to the two surviving victims of the disheartening incident.

Hussle, surname Ermias Asghedom, has received numerous tributes and honors since his passing, including two posthumous GRAMMYs in 2020, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and a tribute medley at the BET Awards in 2019.

In addition, the activist’s longtime partner Lauren London, with whom he shared a 6-year-old son, Kross Asghedom with, has continued to honor him throughout the years both on Instagram and within projects, including Netflix’s newest You People.
