Miami Hurricanes Great Braxton Berrios is Heading Back to the 305 After Signing a One-Year Deal with the Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have added another weapon to their offense as the team signed former Miami Hurricanes returner/receiver Braxton Berrios to a one-year deal.

Berrios is coming off a season in which he was named a Pro Bowl alternate as a return man for the New York Jets.

Berrios is already a beloved figure in Miami as he starred for the Miami Hurricanes for four great seasons, including a career-high nine touchdown catch season in his senior year, earning him a spot on the Third-team All-ACC team.

When you think of the speed and weaponry already on the Dolphins, adding another blazer in Berrios alongside Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Trent Sherfield is pretty eye-opening. It seems as if Berrios’ primary role on the team will be to return kickoffs and punts as he excels heavily in that role, and perhaps Miami wants to cut down those reps for Raheem Mostert, Waddle, Hill, and Cedrick Wilson Jr. to preserve them for their primary roles in Mike McDaniel’s offense.

Berrios will now join his third team in the AFC East after spending time with the Patriots before joining the Jets for a few years.

It will be fascinating to see how Coach McDaniel plans to use Berrios as the 27-year-old all-pro has thrown, ran, and caught a touchdown in his career. Hence, with Berrios’ versatility, the opportunities are endless for McDaniel and company.

All in all, this signing feels like a match made in heaven, plus this already electric Dolphins team has become even more exciting with the addition of such a special playmaker like Berrios.
