Ethan Payne is honoring his late grandfather with his new single “Spin” and Celeb Secrets has your exclusive first listen.
The heartfelt country tune, according to Payne, “takes the listener into the life-bonding relationship of a grandson and a grandfather who never let time get the best of them. The grandfather sadly passes away and the boy is left with only one thing to remember him by — the first car he ever taught him to drive — his grandad’s red Camaro.”
“It means so much to me because five years ago, I lost the most amazing grandfather one could ask for. We did everything together,” he tells Celeb Secrets exclusively.
Written by Troy Castellano, Jayne Sachs and Marla Rubenstein and using the guitar that Luke Bryan gave him, Payne hopes that people learn to not take time for granted with their loved ones especially over the upcoming holiday season after listening to “Spin.”
Diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 18 months old, Payne was faced with an uphill battle early on. However, that didn’t stop him from following his passions, and pursuing a career in country music. A huge fan of Bryan, he requested a meet-and-greet with the country superstar as his only wish to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Not only did that dream come true, but Payne also got to share the stage with his idol during a concert at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX on October 22, 2016.
Ethan Payne has been nominated for 3 years in a row (2017, 2018 and 2019) for Georgia Country Teen Artist of the Year at the Georgia Country Music Awards. He appeared on the 17th season of American Idol on ABC-TV in the spring of 2019, where he reunited with Luke Bryan to perform a rendition of the Bryan hit “Do I.”
He has since been making regular trips to Nashville and co-writing songs with hit songwriters for his upcoming album, releasing songs like “Luke’s Guitar” and a special rendition of Shenandoah’s “The Moon Over Georgia.” “Spin” is definitely a taste of what’s to come from the rising star, as he confirmed to Celeb Secrets that he’s still writing and making music while thinking of resolutions he will set (and hopefully keep) for the new year.
