The ducks are flying back — to your nearest TV screen that is.
The Mighty Ducks‘ series reboot, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, lands on Disney+ on Friday, March 26, and after watching the teaser trailer, we are absolutely stoked!
Get ready for yet another nostalgia trip because not only is Emilio Estevez reprising his role as Coach Gordon Bombay but he’ll be starring alongside Gilmore Girls‘ Lauren Graham.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is set in present-day Minnesota and the Mighty Ducks are no longer the underdog team we loved. After Estevez’s Gordon Bombay coached the team to greatness, they became an ultra-competitive, superb kids’ hockey team.
Evan Marrow (Brady Noon) and his mom, Alex (Graham) are set on starting their own team of misfits to go up against the Ducks after Evan is cut from the team. They get help from Gordon Bombay and along the journey, they relearn the love of the game.
The 10-episode series will have a roster of new up and coming young actors including Brady Noon, Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O’Reilly, Taegen Burns, Bella Higginbotham, and DJ Watts. We can also expect to see Dylan Playfair, who we sat down with earlier this month, as Coach T.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is bound to be great considering the OG creator, writer, and executive producer of the original trilogy, Steve Brill, is back as co-creator and executive producer.
