Multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated band Fall Out Boy has unveiled the music video for their single “Champion” today.
Starring Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Timothy Granaderos (13 Reasons Why), Ashley Iaconetti (The Bachelor), and Jaden Smith (The Get Down), the video depicts each of their characters embodying the song’s shared anthemic and defiant message in their own personal situations.
“I can’t think of a worse drug than fake reality…we create and can be whoever we want, yet our choices often leave us lonely and unfulfilled,” says Fall Out Boy bassist & lyricist Pete Wentz of the Brendan Walter & Mel Soria-directed video. “Smash the fake reality. Don’t just sit around and kill time.”
“Champion” was most added at pop and hot A/C radio this week, and is already climbing the alternative radio charts; gaining more than one million streams weekly, the track has already amassed more than 10 million total streams. Last night, the Empire State Building shined its world famous tower lights in purple during a live performance at Z100’s Block Party to illuminate the sky and complement the musical aesthetic of M A N I A.
