“Fly, Eagles Fly!” Eagles are Flying Indeed After 24-8 Win Over Commanders to Remain Undefeated

The Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Jalen Hurts are taking the league by storm. The Eagles continued their hot start to the season with a 24-8 win over divisional foe, the Washington Commanders.

The Eagles have truly started the season off with a bang. Not only has Hurts and newly acquired superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown been great, but the Eagles defense has been dominant to begin the season. After scoring a combined 55 points between their first two matchups of the season, the Commanders were held to just 8 points and 87 rushing yards by the Philadelphia defense.

In their week three victory, the Eagles were led by 4-year linebacker T.J. Edwards who had a dominant outing consisting of 10 tackles and one sack. The defensive line of the Eagles was terrific in this one, as well, as Brandon Graham, Haason Reddick, Fletcher Cox, Josh Sweat, and Javon Hargrave combined for six sacks on the day for Philadelphia.

As for the offense, Jalen Hurts led the way with 360 combined yards and three touchdown passes. The recipients of those touchdown passes from Hurts were tight end Dallas Goedert and talented wide receiver duo A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. It was the best performance to date for Smith as the former Alabama Crimson Tide wideout finished with eight receptions for 169 yards and a touchdown on the day. Brown also had himself a great day as he had 85 receiving yards to go along with his touchdown.

Philadelphia remains the only unbeaten team in the NFC as the 2-0 New York Giants have yet to play. The “G-Men” will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys tonight on Monday Night Football on ESPN at 8:15 pm ET. Therefore, we shall see the result of that contest to see whether or not the Eagles remain the only unbeaten team in their conference.

The Eagles will look to take this hot start into their week four matchup as they host Trevor Lawrence and the 2-1 Jacksonville Jaguars.

As for Washington, they will look to bounce back after a poor showing in week three. They will be heading into “Jerry World” in week four to face off against Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys.
