Queen Bey wasn’t lying when she said girls run the world.
On Friday (November 8) multi-format music and entertainment company Femme It Forward, along with Live Nation, hosted their third annual Give Her FlowHERS Awards Gala at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
Presented by Femme It Forward’s President & CEO, Heather Lowery, executive produced by Miatta Johnson and Massah David of MVD, Inc. and sponsored by Spotify, the event united notable artists, visionaries, executives, and tastemakers to honor trailblazing women of color who have made a profound impact in their respective fields and give each of them a physical flower bouquet and an award.
Bay Area rapper Saweetie hosted the gala and accepted the Give Her FlowHERS Award, which recognizes an artist who embodies empowerment, resilience, and cultural influence, inspiring women to embrace their strength and confidently define their success.
“I’d give my flowers to Jill Scott,” Saweetie tells Celeb Secrets host Lupe LLerenas on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony. “I appreciate her for allowing me to use her art. She didn’t have to do that, but she did. So my flowers are for the one and only Miss Jill Scott.”
This year’s event also recognized and celebrated the achievements of GloRilla, Doechii, Jill Scott, Chloe & Halle Bailey, Nija, and Lady London.
GloRilla was given The Big Femme Energy Award, acknowledging her significant influence on this generation’s music.
“Shout out to God. Shout out to you all. Shout out to me,” GloRilla shared during the gala. “I always live out of the three D’s: determination, dedication, and diligence. And don’t let nobody tell you all what you all can’t do because at the end of the day, their sun won’t shine.”
While on the red carpet, Celeb Secrets’ Lupe LLerenas briefly spoke with the Memphis, Tennessee rapper about the message she would give her younger self now that she is a two-time 2025 Grammy nominee. Glo said, “I’m proud of you. You gonna do you. You gonna be there. You gonna be the biggest.”
Doechii received The Visionary Award, celebrating her fearless creativity and vision for shaping the future of women in music, while Chloe and Halle Bailey accepted The My Sister’s Keeper Award, which defines the spirit of sisterhood.
Aside from celebrating their everyone’s achievements, guests in attendance were also treated to powerful performances from Tanerelle, Jai’Len Josey, Amaria, and Zyah Belle, who each brought their unique talents to the stage.
“I’m so happy. I’m very thankful. I think that this is a big opportunity for me,” Josey told Celeb Secrets ahead of her performance.
“You can expect soul, heart and emotion,” Belle added about her performance, which she said was of an unreleased song.
