Happy 95th Birthday Marilyn Monroe: Celebrating The Hollywood Icon

Marilyn Monroe is easily one of the most legendary figures in Hollywood history and today she would have celebrated her 95th birthday.

Born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926 – she rose to prominence in acting modeling, and singing. The fierce Gemini was known for being a blonde bombshell and was not afraid to give a little sex appeal in films like Some Like It Hot and How to Marry a Millionaire.

What many don’t know is that she was a champion for women’s rights, denouncing sexual harassment in Hollywood, seeking higher pay for women, and embracing her curves.Unfortunately, Monroe died tragically on Aug. 4, 1962, in her L.A. home from a barbiturate overdose.

Monroe’s humor and dynamic acting were unmatched. Decades later we still celebrate the life and legacy of Marilyn Monroe, a gem of old Hollywood glamour.
