Monique Coleman aka Taylor McKessie
Monique Coleman was cast as Taylor McKessie, the captain of East High’s scholastic decathlon team and Gabriella’s BFF. McKenzie taught us to mingle with people from different backgrounds. She was portrayed as the athlete-hatting “nerd.” However, the jocks soon became some of her closest friends when she decided to step outside of her inner circle and comfort zone.
After High School Musical, Coleman starred in several productions from the sitcom Here We Go Again, Steppin’ Back to Love, and most recently, I Am Somebody’s Child: The Regina Louise Story. In 2019, the HSM actress received a Daytime Emmy nomination for her youth-driven Talk Show “Gimmie Mo.”
