Hollywood’s most influential beauty professionals came together for the 3rd Annual Daytime Beauty Awards earlier last month (September 12) and it was definitely an afternoon to remember.
Held at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles on a warm September afternoon, the event once again recognized the science behind beauty while spotlighting health and wellness professionals in the fields of dentistry, medicine, health and fitness, aesthetics, skincare, color and styling, cannabis, beauty innovation and more.
“It’s so fun to be here. I’m so honored and lucky that [Pamela Price and Michele Elyzabeth] and the whole team recognize me in this way,” Danielle Lauder, who is an actress, entrepreneur and the great-granddaughter of Estée Lauder, told Celeb Secrets host Juliet Schroder on the red carpet prior to the ceremony. “After getting the award last year at the Hollywood Beauty Awards and them reaching out to me after the whole pandemic really means a lot to me. I’m excited to be here,” she added. The 27-year-old officiated as the Ambassador for this year’s show.
Celebrities like Jonathan Berlent, Tommy Chong, Regina Hall, Richard Halpern as Austin Powers, Chelsea Harris, Cheryl Hines, Karen & William Lauder, Kurt Rambis, Cesar Deleon Ramirez, Ogema Larry Romanelli, Melissa Rue, Halston Sage, Jordin Sparks, Kitty-Blu & Billy Appleton, and Dr. Jeffrey Tucker presented awards to this year’s honorees, which included Paula Abdul (Outstanding Achievement in Health), Dr. Moncef Slaoui, former Chief Scientist for the U.S. government’s Covid vaccine development effort (Special Tribute Award), Chris Appleton (Outstanding Achievement in Fitness), Gary Archer (Outstanding Achievement in Dentistry), Dr. Stafford Broumand (Outstanding Achievement in Aesthetics), Dr. Andrew Caster (Outstanding Achievement in Medicine), Tracey Cunningham (Outstanding Achievement in Color and Styling), Michaeline DeJoria for John Paul Mitchell Systems (Brand of the Year), Nancy Duitch and Nicole Kidman for Sera Labs (The Breakthrough Award), Gary Trudell for Custom Comfort Mattress (The Sleeping Beauty Award), Rea Ann Silva for Beautyblender (Tool of the Year), Erica Skynn for Derm7 (The Innovation Award) and Imelda Walavalkar & Tracy Anderson (The Zen Award for Pure Beauty).
Excited to receive his honor for “Outstanding Achievement in Fitness,” Chris Appleton told us, “Fitness has been a big part of what I do — staying mentally in a great place — and that’s really helped me throughout my life. And as things have changed and times maybe have gotten tougher or more challenging, [fitness] has been helping me stay centered. I think people think that it’s just about vanity, but a lot of it for me is just that hour a day to myself where I sort of give back.”
In addition to the award ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails and a luncheon along with a silent auction, which benefitted the Helen Woodward Animal Center for their constant efforts rescuing animals of all kinds from natural disasters, providing healthcare and forever homes.
