John Mayer Set to Hit the Road This Spring, Performing Both Old and New Songs ‘All on Acoustic, Electric and Piano’

John Mayer is officially hitting the road!

After 20 years in the making, the GRAMMY Award winner will take on a solo acoustic tour this upcoming spring, and fans are absolutely thrilled.

Being entirely acoustic, attendees will get to see Mayer’s raw talent in action, with stripped-down performances of both old AND new songs on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano and more. With acoustic renditions of smash hits like “New Light,” “Gravity,” “Love on the Weekend,” “Heartbreak Warfare,” “Daughters,” “Waiting on the World to Change,” “Last Train Home,” “Your Body Is a Wonderland” and more, AND a sneak peek into new music on the way, this tour is sure to be unforgettable.

The music legend took to Instagram today (January 26th) to announce the tour, after posting a teaser last week hinting at a special announcement to come.

The caption tied to the announcement dove into Mayer’s background as an artist, reading “I’m going on a solo arena tour. I began my career on stage with only a guitar and a microphone. A lot has changed since then, but I knew one day I’d feel it in my heart to do an entire run of shows on my own again, just like those early days. It took a couple of decades, but I feel it now. I’ll be playing old songs. Newer songs. Songs you haven’t heard yet that I’ll be road testing – all on acoustic, electric, and piano,” with ticket information to follow.

The tour will run in various cities across the United States and Canada, beginning on March 11th in Newark, New Jersey and ending on April 14th in Los Angeles, California. The talented singer-songwriter will be hitting some of the most iconic venues in North America this spring, even making a stop at Madison Square Garden on March 15th.

To make things even better, Mayer won’t be alone for these 19 stops! The tour will be supported by rising singer-songwriters Lizzy McAlpine and Alec Benjamin, as well as a special guest that is yet to be announced. We can’t wait to find out who it is!
