Jojo Siwa Responds to Claims over Miley Cyrus Black Mirror Controversy (Exclusive)

ICYMI, Black Mirror is back on Netflix for a new action-packed and potentially controversial season. The show is known for its creepy portrayal of the future and a deeper look into how technology and human nature might collide.

The Netflix show features an episode starring Miley Cyrus as pop musician Ashley O. But what started as a simple character in a show series, turned into the internet freaking out over the eerily similar characteristics to performer JoJo Siwa.

As a whole, the Black Mirror episode paints Ashley O. as a popular singer with her whole life revolved around branded merchandise. Her character feels as if she needs to get out of the celebrity machine that’s become her life.

Since release, Siwanators have been breaking the internet over theories. So, Celeb Secrets got to the bottom of it.

“I think it’s hilarious because in the same week that happened, the character does seem very similar to me on the side of it being that the character has merchandise with it’s face all over it, and sends a positive message… but it’s not because it’s not a robot. I feel like people are waiting for the day where I didn’t like it, but they are going to be really disappointed because that day is never going to come.” Siwa said backstage at Slimefest. “In the same week that episode came out, she (Miley Cyrus) released a song called D.R.E.A.M. so you never know.”
