Josh Allen has learned a lot after only two seasons in the NFL.
The 23-year-old quarterback — who brought the Buffalo Bills into the Wildcard Round for a 10-6 finish last season — reflected on his experience while chatting with our reporters at AT&T’s DIRECTV NFL Sunday Ticket Lounge during Super Bowl LIV earlier this month in Miami Beach, FL.
“There was some good and some bad, but definitely a lot of learning,” Allen tells Celeb Secrets host Juliet Schroder. “I felt that I grew as a quarterback, as a football player and as a leader for our team this year.”
Crediting Coach Daboll, Coach Dorsey and even linebacker Lorenzo Alexander for setting the precedent, Allen says that he’s taking in everything he’s learned to prepare for a strong season next year.
“Our mindset every year is playoff caliber,” the 23-year-old says. “Coach McDermott says we have to make sure that we get into the playoffs because once you’re in, you have a chance to win the whole thing. It really doesn’t matter how many wins you get. Of course you want to win the division, but we want to give ourselves the chance and that’s putting ourselves in the playoffs and whatever we can do to achieve that.”
When it comes to the offseason, Josh plans on taking it easy with some rounds of golf while listening to Justin Bieber’s album Changes, which drops on Friday (February 14).
“I love Justin Bieber and his music. I’m a big fan. Many people might not agree with me, but I don’t care,” he says. “His tour comes to Buffalo and I’ll be there. Hopefully I’ll know someone where I can sneak backstage and get a picture with him.”
