Ellarose Kaylor Lets Her Drive Shine in Her New Song “I Still Believe” (Listen)

One of our favorite multi-threat, Miss Ellarose Kaylor, just released her new song “I Still Believe” and we can definitely hear the fire and passion behind it.

At only ten-years-old, Ellarose has already accomplished so much but with her new song, she shares with us that it’s okay to fall down in life sometimes.

“When you’re feeling down or defeated, I want you to find the fire and love inside of yourself,” Ellarose shared with Celeb Secrets regarding to the message of her new song. “Believe in yourself and know you can do anything! Just pick yourself up and move forward to make your dream come true.”

Along with the song, Ellarose is currently working on filming a music video in Sun Valley, Idaho to go along with it. She teased that we can expect to see some ice skating. And with her talent, I’m sure she’ll leave us floored.

Celeb Secrets: Can you tell us a little bit about what inspired you to release “I Still Believe”?

Ellarose Taylor: When we were all quarantined and everything shut down I was not able to ice skate. So, I tried to keep up my training by doing “off-ice” class on Zoom but it was not the same. When a rink opened and it was my first time back on the ice, my jumps and spins were not as good as they were before. I was pretty sad and discouraged because I had worked so hard on them before the shutdown. But, I just reminded myself that I had to keep working hard, find the fire inside me, keep pushing and believing in myself. I wanted my next song to have an empowering message and [a] message about picking yourself up and believing in yourself. We all have those low moments, but we have to never lose our belief in ourselves!

CS: What specific message do you want to give to your fans with this song?

ET: When you’re feeling down or defeated, I want you to find the fire and love inside of yourself, believe in yourself, and know you can do anything! Just pick yourself up and move forward to make your dream come true.

CS: In “I Still Believe,” you sing about having “the fire inside of you.” Who or what keeps you going and working towards your dreams?

ET: I am really driven to keep working hard on my goals (plus, I am kind of competitive.) I have a great team of people I work with. My ice-skating coach pushes me to work hard and keep moving forward, my acting teacher, my voice coach all help me grow. My mom is super supportive of my dreams too. I just want to keep pushing forward in everything I do.

CS: You mentioned that you are currently working on the music video for “I Still Believe.” How has that been? Can you tease what’s to come from it?

ET: I am going to Sun Valley, Idaho to film it in February. The secret is…it is going to have ice skating in it.

CS: Since you also act and ice skate, do you get inspiration for your music from those experiences?

ET: 100%! Ice skating is 50% skill and 50% your mind! You must have a clear head and lots of belief in yourself to skate on the ice solo in front of hundreds of people, just hoping that you do not fall on your jumps. Acting is also so competitive and there are so many amazing actors. You just have to find what makes you special and believe in you. For example, when I joined TikTok and Reels, I loved doing the dances but I wanted to do something different than all my friends and other kids my age so I started to do fun skits that I made up or took inspiration from another creator. It was fun to do something that I could put my own creative spin to.

CS: You mentioned that you love to get involved in the creative process of everything you do. Is there anything you haven’t gotten a chance to work on that you hope to do in the future?

ET: Yes I really want to write a movie or TV show. I have a lot of ideas and I think it would be fun to write something and then be in it. I think I would write an ice-skating movie or maybe a young SNL.

CS: Last time you spoke with us, you shared that you were working on some duets with friends, can we expect to hear one soon? Can you give us a hint as to who you’ve collaborated with?

ET: That is totally top secret BUT I am hoping for [a] Spring break release! I will tell you first!

CS: Since we’re Celeb Secrets, what’s a secret or fun fact about making your song that we wouldn’t know when listening to it?

ET: When they first sent me the production version of the song “I Still Believe” it had a lot of auto-tune in it and it did not sound like my voice in [some] parts. So I asked if they would take the autotune out. I would rather have a song that sounds like me than one that sounds perfect. I am 10 and my voice is still developing, changing and I have a lot of training to do. I feel so lucky I am able to record songs as I grow up. It has also been a fun project during Covid, I did voice lessons on Zoom.
