Kanye West premiered Donda 2 last night (Feb. 22) at the “Donda Experience Performance” in Miami, FL.
Fans who were not able to attend the event in person were able to watch the rapper in IMAX theaters and through a Stem Player Livestream. Audiences may have experienced some déjà vu as the rapper showed up 2 hours late just like his last Donda event. The rapper eventually showed up on-stage to vocals from the late rapper, XXXTentacion.
West played multiple brand new songs in the stadium including, “Flowers” and “Diet Coke.” The rapper danced and vibed to his music with a stage of a flaming house surrounded by water.
West had several surprise guests throughout the night including Migos and Pusha T who are also featured on the upcoming album. The rapper also played the song “Eazy,” which he released a couple weeks ago. The song features a slight jab at Kim Kardashian’s new beau Pete Davidson.
Fans, however, couldn’t stop talking about the samples used on some of the rappers songs. Jack Harlow was featured on a song that started with a sample of Vice President Kamala Harris with her famous saying, “We did it Joe!”
West also sampled Kardashian from when she appeared on SNL. The track is titled “Off the Grid” and features parts of Kardashian’s SNL opening monologue.
West used the following sound of Kardashian where she said, “I married the best rapper alive. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids.”
The rapper did leave out Kardashian’s next line where she explains, “When I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.”
The concert ended with a feature of the rapper with the artist, Playboi Carti. Donda 2 was set to release yesterday on Stem Player, however it appears the album is still yet to be available.
So far, only four songs have been released on the streaming service— “Security,” “Pablo,” “Open Road,” and “We Did It Kid.”
