Katy Perry Becomes First Female Artist with Two RIAA Digital Diamond Awards (@KatyPerry)

fd46b559-df24-45f6-9c56-b6831812e610With the No. 1 singles “Firework” and “Dark Horse” each surpassing the 10 million threshold, including song sales and streams, Katy Perry has become the first female artist to earn two RIAA Digital Diamond Awards. In addition, “Roar” has now been certified 8x Platinum. Katy was the first artist ever to exceed 70 million cumulative certifications in the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Digital Single Program and she is the fifth artist in history to earn Diamond status for a digital song.

“The Prismatic World Tour Live,” a concert film shot in Sydney during Katy’s record-breaking December 2014 visit to Australia,will be released worldwide tomorrow, October 30, by Eagle Rock Entertainment with Capitol Records. It will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download and can be pre-ordered HERE. The no-holds barred, full-length live spectacular captures Katy performing the global smash hits “Dark Horse,” “Firework,” “Roar,” “Teenage Dream,” “California Gurls” and “Hot N Cold” along with other global No. 1 singles and fan favorites. Katy played to over two million people on the 151-date Prismatic World Tour, which brought the global superstar to over 100 cities spread across five continents. The run launched in May 2014 and wrapped up earlier this month. Directed for the stage by Baz Halpin in collaboration with Katy, the visually stunning production reflected her fun-loving personality and artistic vision, complete with eye-popping theatrics, daring acrobatics, exotic costumes and much more. The film was directed by Russell Thomas of Done + Dusted. All physical formats of “The Prismatic World Tour Live” will include 30 minutes of exclusive extras.

Katy has received an American Music Award nomination for Favorite Female Artist. She is the face of the global H&M holiday campaign, which will launch in Mid-November. Katy has sold nearly 30 million albums and 120 million singles worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. She is the most followed person on Twitter (75M people, a Guinness® World Record), with a combined social media reach approaching 200 million followers.

She made her Capitol Records debut with 2008’s One of the Boys and cemented her status as a global superstar with the follow-up album, Teenage Dream (2015), which is still on the Billboard 200 after five years. Katy is the only female artist to have five No. 1 singles from one album on the Billboard Hot 100. PRISM, her latest album, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, hit No. 1 on iTunes in more than 100 countries and has been certified quadruple Platinum in the U.S.
