New year means new music for Lauv!
The platinum-selling singer/songwriter surprised his fans with the release of his new song “Changes” after teasing a snippet of the song on his socials last week.
Featured on his 21-track debut album ~how i’m feeling~ out on March 6, the pop tune couldn’t have been released any other day, as its perfect for those reflecting on the past year and resolving new changes in the year ahead.
Lauv said on the track, “I wrote ‘Changes’ about being at a point in my life where it just wasn’t working for me anymore. I wasn’t happy with myself, with the way I was living, and I felt like I needed to grow and evolve. It’s one of my most personal songs, and a massive favorite from the album.”
The pop visionary had a stellar 2019, calling it one of the best years of his life.
He released the collaboration with LANY, “Mean It” and announced the March release date for his debut album ~how i’m feeling~. The video for “Sims” directed by Phillip Lopez (Kygo, Selena Gomez, Liam Payne) serves as the proper visual introduction of the “Little Lauv” characters that adorn his debut album artwork for ~how i’m feeling~and make up Lauv’s “one man boyband.”
In October, Lauv was also featured on the remix of BTS’ “Make It Right (feat. Lauv),” and his latest radio single “fuck, i’m lonely” with Anne-Marie track has over 250 million streams to date and peaked at #30 at Top 40 US radio.
Celeb Secrets spoke with Lauv backstage moments after performing at Z100’s Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden last December, and he said the entire experience was a “dream.”
“[I Like Me Better] was the song that changed my life and it’s about New York City. I used to live here and to play MSG is obviously iconic, so it’s really cool.”
He plans to top 2019 with new music in 2020, as well as a tour and some choreography to go along with it.
“I’m learning how to dance. I used to say it at all my shows that I don’t know how to dance,” Lauv tells our host Juliet Schroder. “It’s mostly true, and now I want to learn how to dance, so I’ve been learning.”
