Could fans get the chance to see Blair Waldorf on their screens again?
In a recent interview with Fox 5 New York, Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester finally revealed if she will appear in the New HBO Max reboot of the hit series.
“Yeah, I don’t know, I mean, you know, I’m doing a junket today, this has been asked a couple times, I’m going, ‘I don’t know maybe,'” she said. “I will say, you know…I’ve watched the new one, I do think it’s really awesome.”
Although the 35-year-old actress kept her answer open for interpretation, she did reveal that she is happy for the new cast and generation of Gossip Girl.
“You know, I do feel like—I’m happy for them,” she said. “I feel like they’re doing a whole new thing… and I don’t think that we don’t fit in but—or I can only speak for myself—I don’t feel like I fit in. But I will say…I feel really good sort of sitting back and leaving it to the kids,” she continued. “To the young, new generation, they’re doing so awesome.”
And in true Gossip Girl fashion, Meester decided to keep the possibility of her return to New York a secret that she will never tell.
“So, that’s all I’ll say for now, you know. You never say never.” Meester said with a smile.
