Lexi Anand is gearing up for the music video release for her new single “Exit” and Celeb Secrets has your first look at the impactful new visual that’s an absolute must-see.
The Nashville-based singer/songwriter, who released the pop ballad on June 16, tells Celeb Secrets that “Exit” is about “a toxic relationship and the mental process of leaving it.”
“This song was truly built from the title and means a lot to me, as it’s about a toxic relationship and the mental process of leaving it,” she tells Celeb Secrets. “I wrote the chorus and then, the rest of the song sort of wrote itself.”
Expressing that she leaned into personal experiences for the meaningful track, Anand teamed up with producer Bill McDermott to help put together a song that she hopes will resonate with many just after one listen.
Wanting the video to represent the process of liberation, Lexi was able to bring her tune to life thanks to a talented team at Oakes Creative.
“Actor and Director Ben Oakes had a specific vision for the theme which was to focus on the actress’ feelings and struggles that didn’t necessarily have to include a male and I loved that,” she shares.
Filmed in Nashville, Tennessee, Lexi says she not only enjoyed filming the creek scenes, but also loved that she was able to have both her best friend Daniella and her favorite ice cream shop, Sarabhas, in the video.
“My favorite memory from filming was during the creek scenes. The location was so beautiful with the trees and the flowing water. It was also refreshing to be in the water after doing the running scenes,” she laughs.
“One of my best friends, Daniella, was also part of the video. and it was so much fun!” she says. “I was also able to film the video in my favorite Indian ice cream place, Sarabhas. It’s a trendy spot in Hillsboro Village with a lot of college students and so delicious.
Anand has always had a passion for singing and songwriting. When she was just six years old, she wrote her first song entitled, “When I Wake Up.” “When I Wake Up was a song about waking up in different locations, like on the sun or on the moon,” says Lexi.
In 2019, Lexi was selected to attend Grammy Camp by The Recording Academy. There she studied under notable writers such as Echosmith, Andy Grammer and Jordin Sparks. She is a student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where she recently finished her first year of college and spent the first few weeks of summer traveling the world exploring Denmark, Italy, Geneva and Amsterdam.
As Lexi Anand continues to carve her path in the pop music realm with a desire to pursue sync for TV & Film, her star power shines brighter with each endeavor. With an unmatched work ethic and a genuine connection with her fans, Lexi is poised to become a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
As for what’s next, Lexi plans to continue writing and performing while celebrating the success of “Exit,” which currently has over 240k streams.
“I’m constantly working on new music,” she shares. Although I don’t have a date picked out yet, I’m eager to share my new songs as soon as I can.”
“In the next couple of months, I hope to continue playing some cool venues in Nashville and I’m really excited about what’s coming next,” she concludes.
