Lulus’ 2nd Annual Prom in Los Angeles Was the Ultimate Grown-Up Prom Redo with Sparkle, Celebs and Dresses Under $100 (Exclusive Recap)

If you ever wished you could redo your prom with better outfits, better photos and zero curfew, Lulus just made that dream come true.

On March 5, the beloved fashion brand hosted its second annual prom at its Los Angeles flagship store, transforming the space into a glittering celebration of fashion, beauty and nostalgia — and honestly, it might have been even better than the real thing.

From the moment guests walked through the doors, it felt like stepping straight into a modern-day prom fantasy. A massive balloon banner and arch welcomed attendees into the party, where the store floor quickly filled with stylish guests dressed head-to-toe in Lulus looks, sipping cocktails, indulging in adorable desserts and soaking in every main-character moment of the night.

And if the vibe of the evening could be summed up in one phrase? Prom, but make it chic.

The guest list was just as dazzling as the dresses. Dinah Jane of Fifth Harmony made a glamorous appearance in the Lulus “Stunned By You” Black Rhinestone Mermaid Maxi Dress ($79), while Zeta Morrison shimmered in the Sparkle ’til Dawn Light Pink Sequin Lace-Up Mermaid Maxi Dress ($95).

Fellow reality star Sierra Mills stunned in the sleek Anca Brown Sleeveless Mock Neck Bodycon Maxi Dress ($65), while model Miranda Morris brought sunshine to the celebration in the Marilou Light Yellow Strapless Ruched Lace-Up Maxi Dress ($118).

The best part? Many of the looks worn throughout the night — including those from the celebrity attendees — were under $100, proving you don’t need a prom-sized budget to deliver a show-stopping moment. Our editor Kennia was one of the many who were able to score an invite, and she wore the Compelling Style Black Strapless A-Line Maxi Dress in Black ($99).

But the real magic of the evening was how immersive it felt. Instead of a traditional event setup, Lulus recreated the classic prom experience with playful interactive stations that had guests fully embracing the throwback energy.

One of the first stops? A corsage station where attendees could grab the perfect floral accessory to complete their look — because what’s prom without a corsage moment? Next up was a personalization bar featuring engraved mirrors, where guests could add their own custom message or name. The mirrors quickly became the ultimate keepsake (and practical glam essential) for touch-ups throughout the night.

Of course, no prom is complete without the photos — and Lulus absolutely delivered on that front.

Two nostalgic prom portrait backdrops transported guests back to the classic school photo days, while a selfie mirror and an iconic Lulus accessory wall created endless opportunities for content-worthy snaps. The crowd favorite, however, was the photo booth, fully stocked with prom crowns, bouquets and sashes so guests could truly embrace their inner prom queen.

Between snapping photos, guests mingled with friends, nibbled on the cutest themed treats and packed the dance floor as the night unfolded. And tbh? For many attendees (including us), this prom redo might have been better than the original.

Whether you were prom royalty back in the day or skipped the dance entirely, Lulus proved that the magic of prom isn’t about high school memories — it’s about the feeling of dressing up, celebrating with friends and dancing like the night will never end.

Safe to say, this was a prom night we’ll definitely never forget!
