Saturday, May 1 marked a major birthday celebration among Jessica Simpson and her family, but partying IRL just wasn’t enough for this world-famous pop star!
To keep her fans in the know, Simpson recently took to Instagram where she shared her belated birthday wishes with over 5-million followers.
In the lengthy yet adorable caption, Simpson spills everything she admires most about her firstborn and “best friend” daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson (a.k.a. Max).
Simpson writes: “She is prayerful, nurturing, intuitive beyond belief, hilarious, honest, a lover of horses and every animal on the planet, empathetic, wise beyond her years, thoughtful, strong, beautiful, hardworking,” and the list goes on for miles as our eyes well with tears.
Next to the heart-felt caption, Simpson chooses to highlight an upbeat family photo where Simpson’s, 7-year-old son Ace Knute Johnson, and father Eric Johnson pose with a pair of horses on a sunny day.
In another Instagram post on April 29, Simpson revealed that Max inspired her to give horseback riding a second chance after a tragic accident killed her cousin. So, the photo choice couldn’t be any more fitting.

According to Simpson, Max’s greatest wish was to see the family united on a horseback riding trip and this wish totally overthrew any fears from the past. “My love for Maxwell is bigger than my fear of anything, so needless to say I was back on a horse and we made hilarious and beautiful memories that will last a lifetime,” shared Jessica on social media.

Now, Simpson has been successfully converted into a Western-style fanatic and it’s all thanks to Max’s family vision. But most importantly, this certainly isn’t a rare motherly transformation for Simpson. She admits Max constantly pushes her to be the best version of herself in various wakes of life.
“[Max’s] inquisitive mind strengthens mine. Her heart holds space [in] everyone and everything. When I think about her I can’t help but smile with all that I have, a happy smile is always inspired by her,” Simpson says in the birthday tribute.
