Olivia Rodrigo has been making her mark in the music industry since the release of her debut hit single “drivers license” earlier this year and we’re getting deja vu because she’s breaking even more records with her new single, “deja vu.”
“deja vu” was released April 1 as the pop sensation’s second official single and debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart at number eight this week, making her the first artist in history to debut her first two singles in the top 10 of the chart.

“drivers license” earned the artist her first chart breaking titles after getting more than 65 million streams on Spotify within its first wee; as well as pulling more than 550,000 song units on Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Songs Char and being the first single to spend seven consecutive weeks on the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 since Drake’s “God Plan” in 2018 (and lots more).
Rodrigo got her big break in the industry as the lead in the Disney+ show, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which is gearing up to premiere its second season in May, as she took part in writing some of the shows songs such as “Just For A Moment” and “All I Want.”
She announced her debut album, *O*R, on Twitter right after dropping “deja vu” and is set to release the album on May 21. No other details have been shared since then but we’re sure that it’ll be filled with beautifully written songs that paint the perfect picture. Olivia is Taylor Swift’s adopted child after all.
Congrats, Olivia! We can’t wait to see what other records *O*R breaks next month.
