Mason Ramsey is officially in his boldest, baddest, and most confident era yet.
Fresh off the release of his feel-good new single “Hey There Trouble,” the 19-year-old country star has announced that his highly anticipated sophomore album, Outlaw in Love, will arrive on August 14 via Sandlot Records. Produced by GRAMMY-nominated hitmaker JKash, the 12-track project promises to showcase a more confident, more adventurous version of Ramsey while staying true to the traditional country sound that’s been at the heart of his music since day one.
For fans who’ve watched Ramsey grow from a small-town kid with an unforgettable voice into one of country music’s brightest young stars, Outlaw in Love feels less like a reinvention and more like the moment everything clicks.
“I’ve spent a lot of time figuring out who I am as an artist, and this album feels like the closest I’ve come to capturing that,” Ramsey shares in a statement. “‘Hey There Trouble’ is one of those songs that just makes you feel good — it’s about getting back home after being on the road and seeing that person who can instantly make everything better. The whole record has a sound that’s rooted in country but has some rock and roll swagger too.”
It’s a fitting description for an artist who’s quietly built an impressive resume over the last several years. Since first breaking onto the scene, Ramsey has amassed more than 600 million global streams, earned an RIAA Gold-certified single, released three acclaimed EPs, wrapped a successful headlining tour, and performed on some of country music’s biggest stages, including the Grand Ole Opry, CMA Fest and Stagecoach. Yet despite the milestones, Ramsey has never sounded more comfortable in his own skin than he does now.
Celeb Secrets Country caught up with the singer-songwriter backstage at CMA Fest 2026 in Nashville earlier this summer, where he was making his sixth appearance at the annual country music celebration. Between performing a set at Fort Nash, making his way up and down Broadway and sitting down for interviews, Ramsey couldn’t hide his excitement about everything he had in the works.
After years of growing up in the spotlight, Ramsey says he’s reached a point where he finally understands both the business and the artistry behind country music.
“I’ve got more experience in the industry,” he reflects. “When I was little, I’d meet artists and not realize who they were. I just thought they were my best friend. Now I’ve gotten a chance to listen to more music and learn from different people.”
That evolution is evident throughout Outlaw in Love, a project Ramsey says was intentionally crafted to reflect the energy of his live performances while introducing listeners to a broader version of his sound.
“I wanted to give people my live show experience,” he explains. “A lot of people can’t always make it to my shows, so I wanted them to have a piece of that. This album is definitely a more mature version of me.”
To achieve that vision, Ramsey stepped outside of Nashville during the recording process, spending time in Los Angeles searching for new inspiration without losing sight of his country roots.
“I’ve been doing a lot of work outside of Nashville because I wanted to bring a new experience to my music,” he says. “I’ve been doing some pop stuff, but it’s like 10 percent pop blended with country. It’s got a classical country mix, so it’s kind of an interesting taste. I think y’all are gonna love it.”
Before introducing fans to this brighter, more carefree side with “Hey There Trouble,” Ramsey peeled back the curtain with “Faith” — one of his most vulnerable releases to date. Inspired by a difficult breakup, the song became more than just another single. It marked a turning point creatively.
“I was in a relationship for a little bit, and the girl I was with didn’t think it was gonna work out because my career was taking too long to get to a certain threshold,” Ramsey tells Celeb Secrets. “I wanted to write a song about keeping my faith.”
Just as importantly, “Faith” represented a shift toward making music on his own terms.
“I felt like it was kind of a step in the direction of the music I wanted to make instead of what the industry had been pushing.”
That confidence is evident in more ways than one. Although Ramsey has already accomplished milestones many artists spend decades chasing, he insists he doesn’t spend much time thinking about what’s next. Instead, his focus remains on creating authentic music and connecting with the fans who’ve supported him every step of the way.
“I think you find the most success when you’re not thinking about it. It comes naturally to you,” he says with a smile. “I love putting smiles on people’s faces. Showing them that even though I was just a kid from a small town in Golconda, Illinois, anything is possible in life. No matter how big your dream is, as long as you have the motivation to pursue it, you can do anything.”
That authenticity also shapes how Ramsey views country music’s current boom. While trends continue to evolve and artificial intelligence becomes a larger part of the music conversation, he believes listeners are craving something genuine.
“I think people are looking for real in music,” he says. “Real instruments make it feel more natural, more raw and more authentic. We know what’s real and what’s not, and we click with the real stuff.”
It’s that same commitment to authenticity that’s fueling Outlaw in Love. Rather than chasing viral moments or reinventing himself for the sake of staying relevant, Ramsey is leaning into the artist he’s become—one who’s more confident, more self-assured and more willing to trust his instincts than ever before.
With “Hey There Trouble” already setting the tone, a return to the Grand Ole Opry, and Outlaw in Love arriving August 14, Mason Ramsey isn’t simply celebrating another album release. He’s embracing the next phase of a career that’s been years in the making.
