Meet Tyce Delk: The New Mexico Troubadour Blending Farming, Family, and Fresh Country Sounds (Exclusive)

If you haven’t yet added Tyce Delk to your daily playlist, prepare to clear some space.

The New Mexico-born singer-songwriter is quickly becoming one of country music’s most talked-about fresh faces. With a rich, booming tenor that perfectly bridges the gap between old-school honky-tonk nostalgia and modern-day soul, Delk is carving out a lane entirely his own. Fresh off the release of his stellar second EP, Everything But Gone, a highly anticipated duet with Ashland Craft, and his first-ever CMA Fest, the rising star is about to cross off the ultimate country music milestone: making his Grand Ole Opry debut tomorrow (July 16).

Before he was playing to packed festival crowds, Tyce was living a very different life. Raised in Eastern New Mexico, he is a proud fourth-generation farmer, rancher, and musician. His family’s legacy, The Delk Band, meant he was constantly surrounded by music, though he didn’t initially plan on following in those exact footsteps.

“I am a fourth-generation musician, farmer, and rancher all the way from New Mexico,” Tyce told Celeb Secrets backstage at CMA Fest 2026 earlier this summer. “I didn’t play growing up, and I was obviously around it almost every weekend. I played a year of college basketball, and then I got done playing, and that’s kind of when I picked up the guitar. I just needed something to do.”

That casual pivot in 2020 turned into a lifelong calling. Inspired heavily by his father and grandfather, Tyce began playing anywhere that would have him.

“I started writing music in 2020, and just started playing little steakhouse gigs to two people, and playing anywhere and everywhere I could,” he recalled.

By December 2023, he wrote “Adaline.” Once the track found its footing on TikTok, the trajectory of his career changed forever, leading him straight to Nashville.

Through it all, his family remains his biggest anchor. “My parents just made sure that whatever I did, we were gonna do it the right way,” he shared, adding a sweet hope for the future: “I would love to have my dad sing on a song one of these days. I think that would be really, really neat.”

On June 26, Tyce gifted fans his highly anticipated 7-track EP, Everything But Gone. The project serves as a perfect showcase of his diverse musical palette, drawing from traditional swing to modern soulful rock.

“As far as my music goes, I kinda get influences from all over the place,” he explained. “Del Way, Moe Bandy, some of that old swing stuff I really enjoy. But then also I love the soulfulness of, like, the Marcus King, Vince Gill stuff… I love Olivia Dean, too. Kinda all over the place as far as influences.”

That variety shines through on the new EP, which Tyce describes as its own beautiful blend of “organized chaos.”

“I’ve always said, like, I want people to be able to listen to my songs or my projects and I want it to touch all the bases as far as the sound and the stories and the melodies,” Tyce said. “There’s some honky-tonk stuff, but then there’s also some soulful, some summer-feeling songs.”

As if releasing a brand-new EP wasn’t enough, Tyce’s summer is filled with career-defining milestones.

On July 10, he teamed up with fellow powerhouse vocalist Ashland Craft for a duet version of her song “Doesn’t Have To Be This Way,” featured on the deluxe edition of her album Dive Bar Beauty Queen.

“I always wanted to do a duet with a bad cat, and getting on this song with Ashland, I got to do just that!” Tyce said of the collaboration. “This song feels just right for me as an artist, and I am thankful for Ashland as a person for letting me hop on it!”

But the absolute pinnacle of Tyce’s summer of dreams happens tomorrow, July 16, when he steps into the historic circle to make his official Grand Ole Opry debut. It’s a moment most country artists spend their entire lives chasing, and for this New Mexico troubadour, the dream is finally a reality.
