The Supernatural world is two characters closer to being complete.
Yesterday (March 21). The CW announced that they have added Zombies actress Meg Donnelly and The In Between’s Drake Rodger as regulars in the upcoming Supernatural prequel called The Winchesters.
The pair are set to play the roles of Mary Cambell and John Winchester, the parents of Sam (played by Jared Padalecki) and Dean (played by Jensen Ackles) who are the main characters in the hit 15 season show.

Although the original show ended back in November 2020, The CW brought fans back into the world in February 2022 by announcing that there was a Supernatural prequel in the works.
According to E! News, The CW has said that the new series “is told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester. And will be based on the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world.”
Character wise, “Mary is 19 years old and has been fighting the forces of darkness since she was a child,” the description continues. “After losing someone close to her, the hardened hunter considers quitting the family business—until her father’s disappearance and the arrival of newcomer John Winchester forces her to lead a new team.”

John, on the other hand, “is selfless, clear headed and has recently returned from Vietnam. He finds a new mission back home, where traces of his father’s past lead him to a secret organization and a whole new war as a hunter.”
Not much is known about the prequel as of right now, but it is written by Robbie Thompson, with help from Jensen and Danneel Ackles as executive producers.
