The Kids’ Choice Awards are back and in-person, baby!
After going virtual in 2020 and bringing the famous Orange Blimp around the world in 2021, Nickelodeon revealed that the 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards are returning to Los Angeles this April with new hosts, thousands of epic slimings and dozens of fun-filled pranks that will celebrate fan-favorite stars across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more.
iCarly actress Miranda Cosgrove and NFL superstar Rob Gronkowski are tapped to host the 2022 KCAs, and shared their excitement moments after the announcement dropped today (March 9).
“The Kids’ Choice Awards is such a unique show with tons of energy, superstars and of course, lots of slime. Nickelodeon has always been my family and to co-host this iconic show alongside Gronk will be a blast!” said Cosgrove.
Gronkowski added, “I’ve always been a kid at heart so co-hosting the slimiest award show of the year will be an extraordinary time for me. I’m looking forward to bringing the fun that I have on and off the field to kids at home!”
In addition to announcing that Miranda and Rob will emcee the event, the network announced its star-studded nominees, including first-time nominees Olivia Rodrigo, Saweetie, Elizabeth Olsen, Awkwafina, The Kid LAROI, and Doja Cat, among others. Leading the pack with four nods each are Taylor Swift, Adele, Danger Force, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, iCarly, Cobra Kai, and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run. Musical performances will be announced at a later date.
Beginning today, fans can cast votes on the official Kids’ Choice Awards website, KidsChoiceAwards.com, and through the Screens Up app on supported iPad, iPhone and Android devices in the U.S. Starting next week, International fans can cast votes via the web.
Don’t forget: the 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards air LIVE from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Saturday, April 9th @ 7:30PM ET/PT across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and the Nick Jr. channel.
