Morgan Wade is back, baby — and she’s baring it all.
The unapologetically raw singer-songwriter just released her brand-new single “Left Me Behind” on Friday (June 27) and let’s just say… if heartbreak had a soundtrack, this would be it. The acoustic-heavy ballad feels like reading someone’s diary with a cigarette in one hand and a tear-streaked photo in the other. Yeah, it’s that real.
“And I go back to a March night / When I kissed you underneath street lights,” Morgan sings in her signature raspy tone, pulling us right into the moment. If you’ve ever been ghosted, heartbroken, or just straight-up left in the emotional dust, this one’s going to hit — and hard.
The track is the third offering off her upcoming album The Party is Over (Recovered), officially dropping August 1st. And if the singles so far are any indication, we’re about to get a full serving of Morgan’s signature storytelling — honest, gritty, vulnerable, and absolutely unforgettable.
ICYMI: Earlier this year, Morgan served us “East Coast,” the first single off the project, filmed right on the water and full of poetic longing. Then came the title track, “The Party is Over,” complete with a visually stunning breakup video that’s basically a relationship hangover come to life.
Now, with “Left Me Behind,” she’s giving us the emotional comedown — the moment you realize they’re not coming back, and you’re left replaying every detail. It’s beautiful. It’s brutal. It’s so Morgan.
