Happy Friday!! Today (October 17th) is full of new country music that we are absolutely loving.
Leading the spotlight is Keith Urban, who is wrapping up “HIGH AND ALIVE WORLD TOUR” tonight at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. But although the tour is ending, there is still more for fans to be excited about – the four-time GRAMMY Award winner also dropped HIGH (Deluxe Edition) today.
The deluxe edition features all of the original studio recordings from HIGH, along with six live versions of songs from the album, like “Straight Line,”and “Go Home W U.” Urban also includes two special tracks he only performed during select shows: “Laughin’ All The Way To The Drank” and “Chuck Taylor.”
But the news doesn’t stop there. This Sunday brings the premiere of the new CBS Original, THE ROAD in which Urban stars. Not only does Urban lead the series, but he also serves as an executive producer, alongside Taylor Sheridan, Blake Shelton, David Glasser, and Lee Metzger. In the series, Urban leads a competition following 12 musicians who perform as his opening acts at venues across the country. What’s on the line? The musicians battle it out for the ultimate jackpot, a performance slot at a record deal, $250,000, and a chance to take on the Stagecoach stage! Urban is joined by Gretchen Wilson as “tour manager” and country music stars like Blake Shelton, Jordan Davis, Karen Fairchild, Dustin Lynch and Brothers Osborne, serve as guest mentors, helping to guide the artists as they progress from city to city. You can watch it Sunday on CBS from 9:00 PM – 10:30 PM, ET/PT.
This week also brings us fresh projects, including Chancey Williams’ Miles On Me, Vince Gill’s 50 Years From Home: I Gave You Everything I Had, Anne Wilson’s Stars, Chris Young’s I Didn’t Come Here To Leave, and Leon Majcen’s Making a Livin’ (Not A Killin’).
Chart-topping artists like Morgan Wallen, Trisha Yearwood, Ella Langley, and Dan + Shay are also keeping the hits coming. PLUS, brand new collaborations from Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan’s “Old Tricks,” Zac Brown Band and Marcus King’s “Hard Run,” and Alesso and SACHA’s “Destiny.”
Big names aren’t the only ones shining—up-and-coming artists are stepping into the spotlight, like Ashley Ryan, Ashland Craft, Hudson Westbrook, Peech. and Jonas Conner.
