It’s New Music Friday!!
Today (December 8), one of the BIGGEST highly-anticipated projects of 2023 from Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday 2 – is finally here and it’s a banger. It’s brimming with a collaboration including “Needle” with Drake and a surprise sample from SZA.
Wildly successful pop star Tate McRae released her full-length second studio album, Think Later, and it’s hit us in the feels. The collection features “Cut My Hair,” “Greedy,” “Hurt My Feelings,” “Stay Done,” “Grave,” “Exes,” “We’re Not Alike,” “Calgary,” “Messier,” “Guilty Conscience,” “Want That Too” and “Plastic Palm Trees.” The release of this record follows previously released single “exes” and her debut album, I Used to Think I Could Fly.
Her newest single “run for the hills” depicts an unhealthy relationship that so many of us are familiar with as the songstress shared on Instagram, “this video represents a never ending relationship – kinda like you’re constantly running but constantly running in place, never able to break the cycle. this vid is very special to me.”

In addition, more of today’s top artists have dropped new music this week, including NLE Choppa, Clinton Kane, Tems, J Balvin, Griff, Nessa Barrett, Channel Tres, Toosii, Green Day, Alec Benjamin and FLETCHER.
TikTok star Coco Quinn dropped her “Better Type,” written by Quinn with Zach Sorgen (Charlie Puth, Ryan Tedder, Ava Max) and speaks about the song’s relatability. She says, “I usually try to write my music based around stories that most can relate to. I’m on TikTok a lot and so any girls are talking about their relationship problems. Long Distance and excuses people give to end things are very relatable. This song is a song about a girl who loved a boy, and he made the easy excuse out that long distance would not work and surprisingly she saw him make long distance work with someone who was like her.
