New Music Friday: Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2” Is The Gift That Keeps On Giving

TGIF!

The gals at Celeb Secrets compiled a list of some hot new tracks today (January 19) across multiple genres that we are obsessing over this week. Here is your one-stop shop for must-hear releases this week 🙂

Nicki Minaj added another addition to her top Billboard-200 Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Pluto Edition). She released “Press Play” featuring Future adding to her star-studded record with special guests J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert and more. In addition to this release, the rapper added 13 NEW show dates to the Pink Friday 2 World Tour including cities Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, Chicago, Brooklyn and a number of international dates.

Green Day has unveiled their first album, Saviors, since their 2020 release, Father of All Motherf-kers, which hosts previously released singles “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” “Dilemma” and “One Eyed Bastard.”

Celebrating a few ladies this week as well! Big Thief‘s lead singer and alt-indie songwriter Adrianne Lenker dropped her newest single “Sadness As A Gift” as well as solo dates for this upcoming summer and fall. Make sure to get your tickets here! A few others include Maggie Lindemann‘s “hostage,” Norah Jones “Running,” Andra Day‘s “Where Do We Go” and Zara Larsson‘s “You Love Who You Love.”

Alt-indie songstress from Greenwich, CT Madi Diaz released “Everything Almost” ahead of her highly-anticipated record Weird Faith out February 9th on Anti-. The single follows her duet with Kacey Musgraves titled “Don’t Do Me Good.”

“’Everything Almost’ is about my constant wondering within a relationship,” Diaz says in a release. “How much should I be saying things out loud or am I saying too much out loud? What should I keep for myself? What’s mine that could become ours, that should become ours? What dreams are just mine that I could share with you only to discover they’re your dreams too? It’s an investigation of the depth of how far this thing could go. Am I allowed to keep some of me for me? Saying all of this out loud feels important. It is about realizing I can’t ever be everything for someone but maybe I can be almost everything.”

Other artists that make up this week’s New Music Friday playlist are Bleachers, Cage The Elephant, David Kushner, Norah Jones, AJ Mitchell, Andra Day, UMI, X Ambassadors, Kevin Quinn, Alex Sampson, Brynn Cartelli and Yandel. A few collaborations we love this week as well are Mumford & Sons and Pharrell Williams‘ “Good People,” EKKKSTACY and The Kid LAROI‘s “alright,” Noah Kahan and Sam Fender‘s “Homesick” and Kygo and Ava Max‘s “Whatever.”
