It’s official ladies and gentlemen: according to Nielsen Music, Adele’s highly anticipated 25 has broken the single-week U.S. album sales record formerly held by our favorite 90s boy band NSYNC.
The album first hit the stores on Monday, November 23rd, and within a little over 3 days of being out, it brought in a whopping 2,433,000 in pure album sales. That sum alone overtook NSYNC’s No Strings Attached which debuted in the week of March 26, 2000 with a grand total of 2,416,000. NSYNC showed that even though they lost their 15 year-old title, there really aren’t any hard feelings. In fact, they recently congratulated our Brit beauty through Twitter! 25 still has 4 more days to go before its first week comes to an end and many are saying that it will end strong with at least 3 million albums sold.

Adele appeared on the Today show this morning as part of their Citi Concert Series. She serenaded the lucky New Yorkers with a special rendition of Million Years Ago and much more from her new album. She sat down with Matt Lauer and talked all about her success in both her professional and personal life. And although she’s very happy and proud of the response to her latest release, she states that nothing compares to her son.
“My kid is more important. My kid comes first;
my music comes second.” -Adele on TODAY
