We know that its “brutal” news — Olivia Rodrigo and boyfriend Adam Faze have split after less than a year together.
Although Rodrigo and Faze were private about their relationship and never fully confirmed they were together, a source close to the pair told PEOPLE that the 18-year-old pop sensation and the 24-year-old music video producer have gone their separate ways.
“They’ve been over for a bit now,” the source revealed.
Neither Rodrigo or Faze have yet to make a comment, but their split doesn’t come as a shock to most fans.
Relationship rumors started strong back in June of 2021 when they were spotted getting close at a premiere party for Space Jam 2 in California. One month later, photos of Rodrigo and Faze during a PDA-filled outing were released, seemingly “confirming” their romance.
More recently, rumors began to swirl stating that the pair were having troubles with their relationship, as the now ex-couple spent New Year’s Eve apart. Along with their separate holiday plans, the “Drivers Licence” singer also unfollowed Faze on Instagram, and left hints of her split when telling British Vogue how she learnt to move forward from breakups.
“Besides cutting off all contact, I think it’s important to not only forgive them but forgive yourself for letting everything happen. That’s what I’ve learned,” she said back in December 2021.
News of Rodrigo and Faze’s split come right on the heels of the singer announcing her upcoming Disney+ documentary OLIVIA RODRIGO: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film), so fans are wondering if there will be more information to come about their relationship.
