Olivia Rodrigo is encouraging the youth to get vaccinated in a significant way!
On Wednesday (July 14), the singer paid a visit to the nation’s capital to promote the importance of vaccinations against COVID-19. She was introduced by White House press secretary, Jen Psaki during a press conference that took place in the briefing room of the White House. Psaki joked that the star “traversed red lights and stop signs to see us.”
Rodrigo began her statement by talking about how “honored” and “humbled” she is to have the opportunity to promote youth vaccination.
She said, “I’m in awe of the work President Biden and Dr. Fauci have done and was happy to help lend my support to this important initiative.”
The “good 4 u” singer continued, “It’s important to have conversations with friends and family members encouraging all communities to get vaccinated and actually get to a vaccination site, which you can do more easily than ever before, given how many sites we have and how easy it is to find them at vaccines.gov.”

Rodrigo later met with President Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci to discuss the outreach plan to get more people – especially young people, vaccinated. According to Variety, the HSMTMTS star recorded informational videos about getting vaccinated that will be posted to her personal and the White House’s social media platforms. President Biden took to Instagram to thank Rodrigo for her visit. He posted a series of photos with the singer as they put on sunglasses and posed while giving a thumbs up. In the caption, he said, “Thanks for stopping by, Olivia, and for using your voice to urge young people to get vaccinated. If we all do our part and get the COVID-19 vaccine, we can defeat this virus once and for all. Let’s do this.”
