The nominees for the 2018 Latin American Music Awards are finally here and they include all of our favorite artists.
Ozuna and J Balvin lead the pack with a total of nine nominations each this year, and are up against each other in categories like Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, among others. Other notable nominees include Nicky Jam with eight nods, Daddy Yankee with six, Bad Bunny, Sinaloa, Banda MS by Sergio Lizárraga, and Christian Nodal with five, Luis Fonsi, Maluma, Romeo Santos, Shakira, and Wisin with four.
Also revealed this morning were the first wave of performers, which include hip hop star Cardi B, Mexican regional music singer Christian Nodal, international rapper Pitbull, youth group CNCO, renowned rapper and actor Ludacris, bachata singer-songwriter Prince Royce, singer-songwriter and actress Becky G, the Mexican regional group of Sinaloa, Banda MS by Sergio Lizárraga, pop singer Leslie Grace, the multi-platinum rapper Flo Rida, Argentine singer and actress Tini and Spanish pop singer Alvaro Soler.
This year, the Latin AMAs will pay homage to the artists of the Pop / Rock, Regional Mexican, Urban, and Tropical genres, as well as the categories of Favorite Artist – Crossover, New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, among others. The nominees are based on key interactions of fans with music, including sales, broadcasting, streaming and social activity according to the analysis of Billboard through its data partners Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound covering the dates on August 11, 2017 to August 9, 2018.
Starting today, until 3 pm / 12 pm PT on October 10, fans from the United States and Puerto Rico will be able to vote online at http://www.LatinAMAs.com/vota and fans around the world can do it via Twitter.
The 2018 Latin American Music Awards air Thursday, October 25th @ 7/6c on Telemundo.
